Scholarships

The Catholic Schools of Greater Kalamazoo is committed to making a Catholic education affordable for every family.

All families in need of additional tuition assistance are encouraged to apply.

Due to generous contributions from our school community, grants and scholarships are available for our preschool through 8th grade families.

Mary K. Carr Memorial Scholarship
The Mary K. Carr Memorial Fund seeks to increase interest and enrollment of students engaged in the arts at Hackett Catholic Prep by providing a scholarship designed to support one incoming freshman student, selected each year, in the amount of $500 annually for four years at Hackett Catholic Prep. The student must submit an application and essay, demonstrating a passion for the arts and his/her Catholic faith. The student must remain actively involved in the arts (music, visual, and/or theatre) during his/her time at Hackett Catholic Prep. Given to a rising freshman.

Penn-Shebest Scholarship
The Shebest-Penn Family Scholarship is available to a rising sophomore, junior, or
senior student at Hackett Catholic Prep. Potential recipients must have some
financial need, maintain a C or better grade average, and must be willing to respond to
the following prompt in a well-planned and written essay.

Jan Boyle Welcome Scholarship
Given to freshman and transfer students who apply for tuition assistance. A FACTS Grant and Aid Application must be completed.


Dr. & Mrs. James B. Kilway Scholarship
The Dr. and Mrs. James B. Kilway Award is a scholarship available to a rising sophomore, junior, or senior student at Hackett Catholic Prep. Potential recipients must be in good academic standing, involved in multiple extracurricular activities, and must be willing to respond to the following prompt in a well-planned and written essay.

Neil Redmond Latin Memorial Scholarship
The Neil Redmond Latin Scholarship is available to an outstanding freshman, sophomore, or junior at Hackett Catholic Prep who excels in Latin and exhibits good moral character. The scholarship was established in memory of Neil Redmond, a former Latin teacher at Hackett. Potential recipients must be in good academic standing, a high performer on Latin exams, and must be willing to respond to the following prompt in a well-planned and written essay. The scholarship amount will be based on an endowment, as funds allow, and will be used towards tuition for the upcoming school year at Hackett Catholic Prep.

Adam Pulling Memorial Scholarship
Hackett Catholic Prep is honored to offer the Adam Pulling Memorial Scholarship. This fund will provide for one scholarship of $1,500.00 to be awarded annually in the spring to an incoming freshman who has demonstrated outstanding citizenship through his/her middle school career. This award is given to a student who has been involved in scouting, demonstrated significant involvement in community service, and exhibited outstanding citizenship. This student exemplifies the spirit, courage and strength of character that defined Adam Pulling and endeared him to all who were blessed to know him.
