About

The organization known as the Catholic Schools of Greater Kalamazoo (CSGK) was established in 2004 following a recommendation from a Blue-Ribbon Committee of the Diocese of Kalamazoo. This initiative aimed to unify the educational efforts of the local Catholic community under a centralized governance structure. CSGK was formed in order to offer support, guidance, and assistance to St. Monica Catholic School, St. Augustine Cathedral School, and Hackett Catholic Prep High School.

CSGK's leadership is overseen by a board of limited jurisdiction, which holds authority over non-educational and non-extracurricular services. The board consists of pastors from the eight supporting parishes, presidents of each member school's Local Council Advisory Board (LAC), and five to seven additional members.

This governance structure reflects a collaborative approach to Catholic education in the Kalamazoo area, ensuring that each institution benefits from both centralized oversight and localized input.
