Twenty-eight students from Hackett Catholic Prep's DECA chapter recently competed at the Michigan DECA State Conference in Detroit, representing the school across 11 different events. The students turned in an impressive performance, with four students earning recognition on stage for their outstanding results.
Kate Van Es earned the title of Overall Finalist in Apparel & Accessories Marketing and has been named an Alternate for the DECA International Career Development Conference — a remarkable individual achievement. Patrick Doran claimed the Top Role Play Score in Sports & Entertainment Marketing, and the team of Clara Slattery and Coco Zygadlo took the Top Role Play Score in Travel & Tourism Team Decision Making.
Congratulations to all 28 students who competed, and a special thank you to DECA advisor Kaley Newcomer for her dedication to this program. HCP DECA continues to be a place where students develop real-world business and leadership skills and take them to the state stage.
